Successful StoreIT-Truck stocktaking system integration

The project includes the following modules:
1. Warehouse structure

The warehouse is built in StoreIT via areas, zones and bins, as it follows:

    1.1. Auto park area
1.1.1. Vehicles zone : all available trucks and trailers are associated to this zone
1.1.1.1. Bins: Every truck and each trailer are a separate bin, and name of the bin is the registration plate.
The name of the bin can be printed in a barcode form and can be recorded to the RFID tag.

     1.2. Warehouse area
1.2.1. Warehouse zone: In this zone are the rack rows.
1.2.1.1. Bins: The bins in a row has horizontal coordinate and level. The name of the bin is made of the name of
the row, horizontal coordinate (two digits) and vertical coordinate (two digits)

2. Master data
    2.1.  Item groups:
2.1.1. Truck: in this group are all items that are situated in the truck
2.1.2. Trailer: in this group are all items that are situated in the trailer
2.2. Units of measure: used are identical to these, used in the ERP system
2.3. Items: All items are associated to one of the two item groups (truck or trailer) so later their available inventory
          can
marked with unique RFID tags can be placed on the relevant vehicles

   2.4. RFID tag types:
          2.4.1. PL: Paper RFID label
          2.4.2. ML: Metal RFID Label
2.4.3. MT: Hard RFID Metal tag

3. Inventory management
The inventory in StoreIT contains the following data:
–Tag number : Unique tag number, with which the relevant inventory item is marked. This number is printed in
a barcode form on the RFID label and
recorded in the tag.

       – Item: The item, marked with the relevant tag
        – Unit of measure
        – Quantity
        – Actual location:
                 * The truck which the item marked with the relevant tag is
                 * The trailer which the item marked with the relevant tag is or
                 * The warehouse bin in which the item marked with the relevant tag is
        – Date of inventory creation: date and hour when the inventory is created
        – Stocktaking status
        – Date of last stocktaking

4. Stocktaking
Depending on the type, the stocktaking is made of different inventory. The stocktaking types are:
        – Acceptance stocktaking – when drivers change
        – To service – when a truck is to be serviced
        – From service – when a truck has been serviced
        – Fuel check

The stocktakings are loaded on a mobile device for processing. Since the WLAN coverage is not guaranteed on the whole parking lot, there is an offline functionality for processing the stocktaking and later return the data to the server when online. More than one stocktaking can be loaded for processing.

5. ERP system integration
There is a module for integration with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and WMS system. The data exchange between the two systems is to be done through WEB services.

6. The benefits from the implemented project
The benefits from the new system integration are countless. Apart from the fact that it significantly reduces the time for the operations on the parking and decreases the mistakes, it is also very valuable for the DISCORDIA company finance department. Now the stocktaking data are directly “poured” in the ERP system in the moment the RFID device encounters Wi-Fi service.
